U4 � <br /> l� <br /> rfr <br /> December 7, 2000 <br /> ' Ms Carol Oz R E H S <br /> ' LOP/Site Mitigation Unit <br /> San Joaquin County—Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> ' 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> ' Reference: Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> California Highway Patrol Facility <br /> 385 West Grantline Road in Tracy, California <br /> ' RESD Work Order No. CHP702 <br /> URS Project No. 41-03014214-02-05000 <br /> ' Dear Ms Oz <br /> URS Corporation (URS) is pleased to present this report summarizing the most recent groundwater <br /> sampling activities at the California Highway Patrol (CHP) facility located at 385 West Grantline Road <br /> in Tracy, California(Site) This document also includes proposed additional site investigation activities <br /> This report has been prepared on behalf of the State of California—Real Estate Services Division under <br /> ' Contract No 3014214 <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> ' A single-walled gasoline underground storage tank UST was located at the Site A soil investigation <br /> g g � g (UST) g <br /> was conducted by Alton Geosciences in March 1999 to comply with UST upgrading requirements The <br /> tinvestigation included drilling and sampling four soil borings The borings were extended to <br /> approximately 25 feet below ground surface (bgs) Groundwater was encountered at approximately five <br /> to seven feet bgs Soil samples were collected at 10 and 25 feet bgs from each boring and submitted for <br /> laboratory analyses of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G), benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) The samples collected at 25 feet bgs were also analyzed for methyl <br /> ' tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) The analytical results reported concentrations of MTBE in all four soil <br /> samples collected at 25 feet bgs at concentrations ranging from 0 004 to 0 093 milligrams per kilogram <br /> TPH-G and BTEX were not detected in any of the samples collected at 10 or 25 feet bgs Based on these <br /> analytical results, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD)requested that a <br /> soil and groundwater investigation be completed at the Site The workplan was submitted to SJCEHD <br /> on March 13, 2000 and approved by SJCEHD on March 17, 2000 Fieldwork was delayed so the UST <br /> } <br /> URS Corporation <br /> 2520 Venture Oaks Way, Suite 250 <br /> Sacramento CA 95833 3200 <br /> Tel 916 929 2346 <br /> Fax 916 929 7263 <br />
