S <br /> ' of the 541 Site is undeveloped and has an unlined storm water basin with approximate <br /> ' dimensions of 46 feet by 150 feet The undeveloped portion of the property has an undulating <br /> ground surface that has been graded and raised several feet through the import of clean soil and <br /> ' placement of soil from the storm water basin excavation during the late 1990s and early 2000s <br /> Mr Tom Brenkwitz is currently the owner of the property and building <br /> ' <br /> 32 Site History <br /> Historically, four residential homes and one small commercial building occupied the 541 Site <br /> (Figure 2) Several single-family homes were built on the property sometime in the late 1950s or <br /> ' early 1960s and were demolished sometime between 1967 and 1980 The small commercial <br /> building at the southwest corner of the property was constructed in 1967-68 and was used solely <br /> ' as a tire shop by the following businesses <br /> • 1969 to 1994 - Grant Line Frame &Wheel Alignment Service, and <br /> • 1994 to 1998 - Jimmy's Tire Shop <br /> p <br /> ' These businesses sold new and used tires and patched, plugged, mounted and dismounted tires <br /> (Treadwell &Rollo, 2003a) In addition, the earlier business performed frame and wheel <br /> alignments Based on these activities, lubricating oils and grease would have been the type of <br /> ' petroleum products used The 1,250 square foot building had a concrete slab foundation and a <br /> concrete pit located inside of the building, that was presumably used for performing tire changes <br /> ' and wheel alignments (Treadwell & Rollo, 2003a) A 1,500 square foot concrete paved parking <br /> lot was located east of the building <br /> ' In 1998, the City of Tracy demolished Jimmy's Tire Shop for the widening of West Grant Line <br /> Road There was no documented evidence of contamination or underground storage tanks, <br /> drums, wells or septic tanks encountered during the removal of the building foundation, the <br /> ' concrete pit, or associated parking lot (Treadwell & Rollo, 2003a) Additional background <br /> • information is provided in the Site Assessment Report(Treadwell & Rollo, 2003 a) <br /> 1 <br /> Field Investigation Report 3 8 December 2003 <br /> TREADWELL&ROLLO,INC <br />
