1 <br /> ' 6.1 Medical Procedures and Emergency Telephone Numbers <br /> ' In the event of an accident or emergency situation, immediate action must be taken by the first <br /> person to recognize the event The emergency phone numbers are listed on Table 7 The <br /> ' hospital location map is shown on Figure 1 <br /> ' Immediately call for medical assistance (911) during a medical emergency Call for assistance <br /> (911) in the event of physical injuries, poisoning, fires, burns, or other medical emergencies If <br /> the injury is minor, administer first aid and immediately notify the Site Safety Officer Prior to <br /> administering first aid, consent must be obtained from the person and what you think is wrong <br /> and what you plan to do should be explained If the person does not give consent, do not give <br /> care and call 911 First aid equipment will be located onsite inside the Treadwell &Rollo field <br /> ' vehicle Call for an ambulance or medical assistance, if necessary When the skin is exposed to <br /> chemicals, wash off skin with a large amount of potable water immediately, remove any <br /> 10 <br /> contaminated clothing, and rewash skin using soap When eyes are exposed to chemical(s), hold <br /> eyelid open, and nese the eye immediately with copious amounts of water for IS minutes The <br /> ' wearing of contact lenses by Site personnel is prohibited However, if someone at the Site is <br /> wearing contacts, direct the person remove his/her contact lenses, if possible Never permit the <br /> ' eyes to be rubbed <br /> ' If necessary, initiate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) CPR should only be administered by <br /> a qualified person When transporting an injured person to a hospital, notify the receiving <br /> ' hospital of the nature of physical injury or chemical overexposure and bring this HSP to assist <br /> medical personnel with diagnosis and treatment <br /> ' 6.2 Emergency Evacuation Procedures <br /> ' Various emergencies may warrant a Site evacuation These may include fire, explosion, <br /> chemical release, or personal injury Field team personnel encountering a hazardous situation <br /> shall instruct others onsite to shut down operations and immediately evacuate the vicinity <br /> Site Health&Safety Plan 12 08/14/03 <br /> TREADWELL&ROLLO, INC <br />
