TnMKNMd2MAk <br /> 3.1 Site History <br /> tHistoncally, residential homes and one small commercial building occupied the Site (Figure 2) <br /> Several single-family homes were built on the Site sometime in the late 1950s or early 1960s <br /> The former property owner, Mr Ken Silva, demolished one of the homes in December 1967 and <br /> constructed a small commercial building at the southwest corner of the Site Based on a review <br /> ' of aerial photographs, the remaining homes were demolished sometime between 1975 and 1982 <br /> The commercial building was used solely as a tire facility by the following businesses <br /> ' • 1969 to 1994 - <br /> Grant Line Frame & Wheel Alignment Service, and <br /> ' • 1994 to 1998 - Jimmy's Tire Shop <br /> These businesses sold new and used tires and patched, plugged,mounted and dismounted tires <br /> In addition, the earlier business performed frame and wheel alignments Based on these <br /> ' . activities, only lubricating grease would have been the type of petroleum product used The <br /> 1,250 square foot commercial building had a concrete slab foundation and a concrete pit located <br /> tinside of the building on the east side, that was presumably used for performing tire changes and <br /> wheel alignments (Treadwell & Rollo, 2003) A 1,500 square foot concrete paved parking lot <br /> ' was located east of the building <br /> ' In 1998, the City of Tracy demolished the commercial building(Jimmy's Tire Shop) for the <br /> widening of West Grant Line Road There was no documented contamination or underground <br /> ' storage tanks, drums, wells or septic tanks encountered during the removal of the building <br /> foundation, the concrete pit, and associated parking lot Additional background information is <br /> ' provided in the Site Assessment Report(Treadwell &Rollo, 2003) <br /> ' 3.2 Site Subsurface Conditions <br /> The Site and surrounding area are situated on the distal, northern slope of an alluvial fan <br /> ' (SJC, 1996) The underlying alluvial sediments are Quaternary to Recent in age and typically <br /> consist of silty clay, sandy clays, sands and gravels (SJC, 1999) The top of groundwater was <br /> Field Investigation Work Plan 3 2 September 2003 <br /> ' TREADWELL&ROLLO,INC <br />
