(AGE)has prepared the enclosed Phase II Site <br /> Assessment Report for the property at 540 North Grant Street,Stockton,California(site).The work <br /> was performed as part of a due diligence effort to investigate areas of potential environmental <br /> concern at the site, identified through a Phase I investigation of the property. <br /> The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board requirements for the investigation of <br /> underground storage tank(UST) sites were used as guidelines for the investigation.The location of <br /> the site and its surroundings are illustrated in Figure 1; a plan of the site including boring locations <br /> is illustrated in Figure 2. <br /> INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND <br /> The purpose of the investigation was to test for the presence or absence of suspected contaminants <br /> in the areas of identified potential concern associated with a group of automobile service <br /> establishments that operate at the subject property.Potential concerns included the possible releases <br /> of petroleum hydrocarbons and solventsrelated to the former USTs,steam bay separator and solvent <br /> recycling areas.The scope ofwork included advancement of six probe borings to collect soil samples <br /> for laboratory analysis. <br /> The site is situated in an area of mixed commercial and light industrial use.. The site encompasses <br /> a city block,bordered by East Oak Street on the north,North Aurora Street on the east,East Fremont <br /> Street on the south and North Grant Street on the west.
