KLEINFELDER
condition. Groundwater sampling will include water level assessments at the time of
sampling and will be made in the monitoring wells prior to purging and sampling the well.
During sampling, approximately three to five well volumes will be purged and samples will
be collected. Each of the water samples collected for quantitative analyses will be
submitted under chain-of-custody control to a laboratory certified by the State of
California Department of Health Services (DHS) for the requested analyses. As we are
not anticipating any contaminants in the groundwater, we will discharge the purge water
directly to land surface.
Laboratory Analysis
After collection, the groundwater samples will be labeled, logged on a chain-of-custody,
and immediately stored in an iced cooler. The nine groundwater samples will be
submitted to a State certified laboratory and analyzed for a modified list of Califomia Code
of Regulations Title 22 analytes. The modified Title 22 analytes does not include
unregulated compounds such as chloroanonil, chromium IV, or perchloride.
The samples will be analyzed on a normal laboratory schedule requiring approximately
two weeks (ten working days) for completion unless the client, at an additional charge
requests the optional rush analytical turnaround.
TASK 3 — DEEP EXPLORATORY BORING
Kleinfelder proposes to drill a single deep test boring at this time. The purpose of this
test boring is as follows:
• Assess and describe the subsurface lithology and water quality within the boring
at varying depths and local hydraulic properties within the aquifer.
• Utilize the gathered information to describe potential deep groundwater recharge
potential, along with variations in groundwater quality with depth.
The following scope of work describes the drilling and testing of this borehole.
Permit Preparation
The EHD requires completion of a well/boring permit, and payment of fees prior to
installation of wells. Once contracted to conduct the work, Kleinfelder will prepare
drilling permit applications for submittal to EHD along with the required fees. The
permits must be approved prior to drilling activities. EHD usually requires up to two
weeks to issue the permits.
02001 PR0P.ENV/ST05P346FUJDZ:Iv Page 4 of 12
©2005 Kleinfelder, Inc. December 2, 2005
