Ozone Infection Points <br /> Since the ozone injection points (OIPs) daylight in one location (in a vault adjacent to the former <br /> ozone injection system location) and are not accessible for removal, these points will be pressure <br /> grouted in-place. Pressure grouting will be performed by fitting each pipe with a pressure collar <br /> and applying neat cement grout comprised of approximately 5 gallons of water per 47 pound bag <br /> of neat cement under a pressure of approximately 25 pounds per square inch (psi). A single- <br /> screw rotary pump that is capable of maintaining 25 psi of pressure will be used to emplace the <br /> grout. Once pressure grouting is complete, each of the exposed ends of the pipes will be cut <br /> below grade, capped and covered with neat cement grout within the manifold vault. The <br /> remaining void space within the well box will be filled with sand to within 0.5 foot of ground <br /> surface, and the uppermost 0.5 foot of void space will be filled with concrete, which will be <br /> finished flush with and dyed to match the surrounding ground surface. <br /> Investisation-Derived Waste <br /> Soil cuttings and decontamination water generated during well abandonment will be handled and <br /> managed as investigation-derived waste (IDW), and stored in Department of Transportation- <br /> approved 55-gallon drums (water) or placed in a lined roll-off bin (soil). The drums and bin will <br /> be appropriately labeled and secured within the PG&E Service Center yard <br /> Parsons will collect one composite soil sample from four locations within the soil bin, which will <br /> be analyzed for disposal characterization by a California-certified environmental laboratory for <br /> the following constituents: <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline, diesel, and motor oil (TPHg, TPHd, and <br /> TPHmo)by United States Environmental Protection Agency(USEPA)Method 8015M <br /> • Volatile Organic Compounds(VOCs) by USEPA Method 8260B <br /> • Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs)by USEPA Method 8270-SIM <br /> • Title 22 Metals by USEPA Method 6010B/7471A <br /> Once characterized, all IDW will be disposed of according to local, state, or federal laws. IDW <br /> water will be removed from the Site as part of the Service Center's standard "milk runs" for <br /> waste management within 90 days of generation. The soil bin will be removed within 90 days of <br /> generation following receipt of characterization sample analytical results and generation of a soil <br /> waste disposal profile. <br /> Records of well abandonment activities will be documented in the field logbook and will include <br /> well location, method of decommissioning, total well depth, well diameter, diameter of over- <br /> drilled borehole, depth to water, grout composition, volume of emplaced grout, and configuration <br /> of casing removed. Well abandonment will be conducted in accordance with all applicable state <br /> and county requirements, including DWR Bulletin 74-90 (DWR, 1990),which is a supplement to <br /> DWR Bulletin 74-81, Water Well Standards, State of California, December 1981.
