SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> ' BALL PARK AND PARK & RIDE WELL CONSTRUCTION (PHASE 1) <br /> DRILL, CASE & ANALYZE WELLS <br /> CIP 7542 <br /> SECTION 1 - DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br /> Furnish all labor, materials, equipment and services necessary to construct two public <br /> ' water supply wells that will yield at least 2,500 gallons per minute (gpm) per well The <br /> production wells will be completed in water-bearing formations to a depth of about 1000 <br /> feet The work will be accomplished utilizing reverse circulation drilling equipment <br /> The new "Ball Park" production well will be located at the City of Tracy's Ball Park, <br /> located at 2001 Bessie Ave , slo 24" Street, in Tracy, CA <br /> ' The new "Park & Ride" production well will be located at the City of Tracy's Park & Ride <br /> Parking Lot, located at 2650 N Naglee Road, No Grant Lane Road, near State Freeway <br /> Route 205, in Tracy, CA <br /> The work includes <br /> A The drilling of two 18-inch diameter test holes to a depth of 1000 feet, <br /> running geophysical logs, and obtaining water samples from aquifers <br /> selected by the Engineer <br /> B Reaming of the two test holes to 32 inches in diameter to the depth <br /> prescribed by the Engineer, running a caliper log, setting blank casing and <br /> louvered well casing, gravel packing, setting the cement seal, initial well <br /> development by airlift swabbing, further development by pumping with a deep <br /> ' well turbine pump, and establishing well characteristics through test pumping <br /> activities <br /> The final well bores shall be 32-inches in diameter in order to accept 18-inch <br /> ' diameter casing, a 4-inch gravel feed tube, a 4-inch sounding pipe, two 4- <br /> inch infection lines, and to provide an annular space of appropriate thickness <br /> to receive filter and grout seal media <br /> The work will also include filing of drilling reports, provisions for above <br /> ground mud pits, conveyance of water to the drill sites, disposal of water, <br /> ' cuttings, and drilling fluid, safety and protective measures, and other work <br /> incidental to the project <br /> SECTION 2— SUBMITTALS <br /> Specified product items and proposed equivalent ("or equal") items must be submitted <br /> for the Engineer approval and shall include adequate technical information to fully <br /> describe the function and quality of the item(s) The Contractor shall indicate whether <br /> the submittal is a required product item specified in the Contract Documents (i e <br /> equipment, shop drawings, samples, or food product information only) or for food <br /> product review of proposed equivalents Six copies of the submittals, along with the <br /> Manufacturers' Affidavits for items specified in the Contract Documents, is required <br /> ' August 2001 Division 111 -1 Ball Park& Park & Ride Wells Ph 1 <br /> r <br /> r � - <br />
