SECTION 12— TEMPORARY TEST HOLE STABILIZATION (Bid Item No A6 & B6) <br /> PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> 101 DESCRIPTION <br /> This section includes temporarily stabilizing and sealing of the test holes while final <br /> production well design is completed <br /> 1 02 MEASUREMENTAND PAYMENT <br /> A Temporary Test Hole Stabilization shall be measured on a linear foot basis, as <br /> determined by length measurements Measurement will be based on the actual <br /> number of vertical lineal feet of test hole filled above the uppermost zone tested <br /> for water quality The contract unit price paid for Temporary Test Hole <br /> Stabilization (Bid Item No.s A6 & 136) shall include full compensation for <br /> conforming to these requirements, furnishing all the labor, materials, tools, <br /> equipment, incidentals and for doing all the work involved in Temporary Test <br /> Hole Stabilization, complete in place, as specified in the Standard Specifications, <br /> these special provisions and as directed by the Engineer and no additional <br /> compensation will be allowed <br /> B No standby time or mobilization/demobilization charges will be paid during the <br /> time period between test hole stabilization and commencement of <br /> rednlling/reaming of the filled test hole <br /> PART 2 - MATERIALS <br /> 2 01 FILL MATERIAL <br /> Use fill pea gravel or sand conforming to the specifications in Section 13 The volume of <br /> fill material used shall not be less than the calculated volume of the test hole excluding <br /> the volume for bentonite seals Provide the devices necessary to measure the volume of <br /> fill material placed in the test hole <br /> 2 02 BENTONITE SEAL <br /> Form the bentonite seal with bentonite pellets <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 301 PILLING TEST HOLE <br /> A Upon notification by the Engineer, fill the test hole up to a depth specified by the <br /> Engineer If pea gravel is used to fill the test hole, fill the test hole up to the top 55 <br /> feet Place a 5-foot layer of sand on top of the gravel, followed by a 45-foot <br /> bentonite seal and then approximately 5 more feet of sand <br /> .
