2 03 GRAVEL FEED TUBE <br /> The permanent gravel feed tube shall be Type 304L, 4-inch diameter, stainless steel <br /> pipe conforming to ASTM A778 with a Schedule 40 wall thickness The pipe shall be <br /> furnished in 5, 10 and 20-foot lengths, measured shoulder to shoulder, with flush <br /> threaded end fittings Fit the top of the gravel feed tube with a suitable plug <br /> 2 04 SOUNDING TUBE <br /> The permanent sounding pipe shall be Type 304L, 4-inch diameter, stainless steel pipe <br /> conforming to ASTM A778 with a Schedule 40 wall thickness The pipe shall be <br /> furnished to 5, 10, and 20-foot lengths, measured shoulder to shoulder, with flush <br /> threaded end fittings Fit the top of the sounding pipe with a suitable plug <br /> 2 05 INJECTION LINES <br /> The permanent injection lines shall be Type 304L, 4-inch diameter, stainless steel pip <br /> conforming to ASTM A778 with a Schedule 40 wall thickness The pipe shall be <br /> furnished in 5, 10 and 20-foot lengths, measured shoulder to shoulder, with flush <br /> threaded end fittings Fit the top of the injection lines with suitable plugs <br /> 2 06 BULLNOSE <br /> The bottom of the casing string shall be closed with a 5/16-inch thick bullnose <br /> manufactured of the same material as the bottom section of casing and to which it shall <br /> be welded <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 3 01 GENERAL <br /> When the drilling and caliper survey have been completed, install the blank casing, <br /> gravel feed tube, sounding pipe, injection lines, and screen Do not float casing and <br /> screen into place to the borehole <br /> 3 02 INJECTION LINES <br /> Test the alignment of the injection lines during casing installation by lowering a dummy <br /> 1 that is 30-inches long and has a 3 7/8-inch outside diameter The injection lines' <br /> alignment shall be tested at intervals during casing installation of not more than 40-feet <br /> ' 3 03 JOINTS <br /> All 18-inch pipe joints shall be attached with collars secured by welding to accordance <br /> with these specifications <br /> All joints shall be watertight Welders shall be certified in accordance with AWS D10 9 <br /> for level AR-1 and shall be qualified in the 2G and 5G positions or the 6G position The <br /> 4-inch gravel feed tube, the 4-inch sounding pipe, and the 4-tnch injection lines shall be <br /> tack welded to the 18—inch casing's collars as shown to the Drawings <br /> 3 04 CENTRALIZERS <br /> Weld 4 steel guides positioned 90 degrees apart horizontally to the exterior of casing <br /> and screen at intervals of not more than 60 feet and at screen joints to centralize and <br /> hold the casing to the proper position until the gravel is in place Place the first set of <br /> August 2001 Division 111 -24 Ball Park& Park& Ride Wells Ph 1 <br />
