2 06 SAND TESTER <br /> Provide a Rossum centrifugal sand sampler for measuring the amount of sand produced <br /> ' during pumping <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 3 01 PLUMBNESS TESTING <br /> Perform plumbness testing as detailed in Part 2 01 of this section If the deviation from <br /> ' the vertical is greater than specified, take corrective measures at no additional cost to <br /> the City <br /> 1 3 02 ALIGNMENT TESTING <br /> Lower the dummy through the casing to a depth of 600 feet If the dummy fails to move <br /> ' freely throughout this entire length, take corrective measures at no additional cost to the <br /> City <br /> 303 DEVELOPMENT BY AIR LIFT SWABBING <br /> A Air lift swabbing for development of the wells shall begin by gently surging in the <br /> blank casing immediately above the highest section of well screen The well shall <br /> be simultaneously air lift pumped Air lift pumping shall continue by sections <br /> downward to the bottom of the lowermost screen and shall continue until no <br /> additional appreciable quantity of sand and mud is brought into the well Upon <br /> request by the Engineer, the tool shall be removed and foreign material shall be <br /> removed by bailing <br /> B The air lift swabbing tool shall consist of a double-flanged swab assembly with the <br /> , swab flanges no more than ten (10) feet apart The outside diameter of the swab <br /> rubbers shall be not more than 112-inch less than the I D of the well screen The <br /> pipe section between the swab flanges shall have a sufficient number of openings <br /> ' to allow for passage of 400 gallons per minute (gpm) The air compressor and <br /> necessary equipment used for air lifting shall be capable of pumping 400 gallons <br /> per minute (gpm) The bottom of the pipe section below the swab flanges shall be <br /> ' closed <br /> C Twenty-four hours prior to commencement of well development by test pumping, <br /> infect a solution of the dispersing agent specified into the screened section <br /> ' D Gently surge the dispersing mixture into the well with a bailer Then leave the well <br /> undisturbed for a period of 24 hours <br /> 304 DEVELOPMENT BY PUMPING <br /> A The rate of water being pumped from the well at commencement of development <br /> pumping shall begin at about 300 gpm and be gradually increased to a maximum <br /> ' of 3500 gpm as the water clears Every 15 to 30 minutes, stop the pump and allow <br /> the water in the pump column to flow back through the pump bowls and through <br /> the screened sections into the aquifer This procedure, with increasing pumping <br /> ' rates, shall be repeated as development of the well continues and shall be done in <br /> a manner satisfactory to the Engineer <br /> ' August 2001 Division 111 -30 Ball Park& Park & Ride Wells Ph 1 <br />
