Wright NOV 2 9 2000 <br /> Environmental <br /> Services, Inc. r <br /> i r = <br /> Construction ♦ Engweering • Remediation i <br /> November 24, 2000 IA <br /> Project No 4184 1 <br /> �r <br /> City of Tracy _ <br /> 520 Tracy Boulevard <br /> Tracy, CA 95376 <br /> Attn Mr Paul Verma <br /> Re: Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation and Monitoring, <br /> Tracy Auto Stereo, 10 West Grantline Road, Tracy, CA <br /> Wright Project No. 4184; PHS EHD Site Code 504834 <br /> Dear Mr Verma, <br /> Wright Environmental Services, Inc (Wright) is pleased to provide you with this report for <br /> installing and monitoring one groundwater well at the above referenced site (see Figure 1) <br /> As you know, the purpose of this work is to provide one well for monitoring depth to <br /> groundwater and petroleum contaminants in groundwater as required by the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS EHD) in their letters <br /> dated January 26, 1998 and May 17, 2000 <br /> Wright has discussed the initial investigation approach presented in our letter dated May 23, <br /> 1997 with the PHS EHD, and agreed upon a reconnaissance approach to ascertain site <br /> conditions prior to installing any monitoring well <br /> Background Summary <br /> Wright removed five underground storage tanks from the site on October 23, 1993 the <br /> tanks included Tank 1, 90-gallon, Tank 2, 300-gallon, Tank 3, 280-gallon, Tank 4, 18- <br /> gallon and Tank 5, 18-gallon Tanks 4 and 5 were part of the associated piping for Tanks <br /> 2 and 3 The tanks had apparently been used for gasoline storage Tank 2 had holes.ip it <br /> and soil contamination was evident at the time of removal Groundwater occurred roughly <br /> 8- to 10 feet below the surface at that time Approximately 190 cubic yards of <br /> contaminated soil was excavated, and 3225 gallons of groundwater pumped from the <br /> excavation Analytical testing showed that Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Gasoline <br /> (TPHG) was detected in soil and groundwater samples, and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons <br /> as Diesel (TPHD) was not detected in any sample Following the soil excavation, the curbs <br /> were relocated due to widening of Grantline Road <br /> During the removal of T-1 through T-5, Wright was informed by the property owner that <br /> the City acquired the property for widening Granthne Road and tanks were not known to <br /> have been present Also, the property owner reported that two additional tanks had been <br /> removed at an earlier date from the east side of the building <br /> 67 E 10th Street • Tracy, CA 95376 <br /> 209 833 0758 9 Fax 209 832 5152 <br /> wnght@inreach com Lic #651501 A-B HazMat ry Page 1 <br /> websit http//home inreach comlwright <br />
