(ATC) on your behalf for the above-referenced site. In the addendum, ATC
proposes to install four groundwater monitoring wells, one off-site and three on-site. Two
proposed monitoring wells will be screened within water bearing zone "Zone A" identified as the
gravel/sand units from 5 to 25 feet below surface grade (bsg), one screened within "Zone B"
identified as the gravel/sand units from 35 to 45 feet bsg,,.and one screened within "Zone C"
identified as the.gravel/sand units from 65 to 75 feet bsg:
By letter dated October 30, 2008, the EHD conditionally approved the installation of two
proposed monitoring wells screened within "Zone A", one on the west side of Holly Street, west
of monitoring well MW-8, and one at the northwest corner of the property. In the addendum,
ATC proposes to advance two soil borings to approximately twenty-five feet bsg and install the
two proposed monitoring wells with a screened interval between approximately five and twenty-
five feet bsg. Soil will be continuously logged and screened for volatile organic compounds
using a photo ionization detector or similar instrument. Approximately three soil samples will be
collected from each borehole for laboratory analysis by a California State-certified environmental
laboratory. The EHD approves the revisions for the installation of two proposed monitoring
wells to approximately twenty-five feet bsg as presented in the.addendum.
The EHD also approves the installation of two proposed monitoring wells located between soil
boring CPT-2 and monitoring well MW-5, one screened within "Zone B" and one screened
within "Zone C". 'Both wells will be constructed using conductor casing to minimize the
potential for verticalmigration of contaminants. The proposed monitoring well associated with
"Zone B" will be advanced to total depth of approximately forty-five feet bsg with a screened
interval between approximately forty and forty-five feet bsg, and constructed with a thirty-foot
conductor
i
I
