April 20, 1995'
Project 113-26-04,Work Plan, Page 3
The soil blockage was removed from MW-2 by Parker Environmental Services in
December, 1992 Evidently a cup filled with dirt was lodged in the well casing The
cup was forced to the well bottom (29') and did not impair water flow to the well.
Well measurements taken at the same time showed the groundwater flow direction
to be toward the north
A passive skimmer was installed in MW-4 by Parker Environmental Services on
February 11, 1993 to collect floating product- The skimmer allows gasoline to enter
through a selective membrane that keeps water out. Ms. Linda Turkatte, a Health
Specialist from San Joaquin County, was present during the installation.
Groundwater samples were obtained on February 17, 1993. The slimmer was
removed from MW-4 and inspected. No product was evident in the collection
chamber of the skimmer, and no free product was detected in the well. Groundwater_
elevation had risen about 0 4 feet since December, 1992, and the direction of flow
had shifted from north in December to southeast r
MW-2 and MW-3 were non-detect for TPH-g, benzene, and_ethylbenzene, with
toluene at 3 9 ppb (parts per billion) and xylenes at about 1.7 ppb. MW-1 had TPH-g
at 170 ppb, and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene (BTEX) at 1.9, 7 2, 4.1, and
3.2 ppb, respectively. MW-4 showed the highest concentrations, with TPH-g at 45,000
i ppb, and BTEX at 7,100, 2,600, 440, and 7,500 ppb. These values are slightly lower than
in December, 1992
Site investigation work was done by Parker Environmental in February, 1993, by
collecting soil and water grab samples from seven locations Soil sample results
range from non-detect to 470 ppm TPH-g Corresponding water samples showed the
same pattern of contamination See tables 1 and 2 below
Table 1
Soil Sample Analysis Results*
Cheaper! #37
15 East Grant Line Road, Tracy, California
Samples Collected February 24 1993
Sample # TPH g Benzene Toluene _ ,Etaylbenzene Xylenes
BH1-6' ND ND ND ND ND
BH2-6' 19 1.8 0 062 0.57 1.5
BH3-6' ND ND ND ND ND
BH4-6' 260 036 093 36 17
BH4-7' 470 33 57 75 28
BH5-6' 88 025 15 12 65
• BH6-6' 79 ND<0 025 019 044 019
BH7-7' ND ND ND ND 0 013
Parker Environmental Services, 190 East 7th Street, Pittsburg, CA 94565-2317
Phone (415) 439-1024 Fax (415) 439-2566
