Mr.john Johnson
Project 113-264]Z'August 24,1993
.. - .. - . , •. .. .- .. . . Page 2
E A passive skimmer was installed in MW-4 by Parker Environmental Services on
OU February 11, 1993 to collect floating product. The skimmer allows gasoline to enter ,
through a selective membrane that keeps water out. Ms. Linda Turkatte, a Health
Specialist from San Joaquin County, was present during the installation
Groundwater sampling was completed in February, 1993, and May, 1993.
- II. Current Activities
' Groundwater sarhpleswere obtained on August .9, 1993. The skimmer was removed
from MW-4 and inspected. No product was present in the collection chamber of the
skimmer. Prior to sampling, groundwater elevation measurements were.obtained .
7 using an electric"water.level meter. Results are presented in,the table below.
Table 1 :Well Data
E Cheaper Store # 37 -
15"East Grant Line Road, Tracy, California
' August 9,:1993 (in feet)
i" Well # Well Top Elevation Depth to GW GW Elevation*
MW-1 100.20 6.84 93.36
MW-2 100.20 6.74 93.46
. .': MW-3 101.4Q 7.87 93.53
: .
MW-4 99.205.83 93.37
:r * An arbitrary elevation of 100.0' was established on the site for the GW elevation
Shallow groundwater measurements indicate groundwater is about a foot lower'' -
than in May, .1993: The direction has changed back to the north from southeast in
May. No free.product was detected in MW-4." ,.
Each monitoring well was purged using an electric submersible pump prior to
sampling. Approximately 1O.,gallons was removed from each well, more than three
well volumes.per well. Water levels after purging showed no significant change
Prior to san lin . Allpurge water was placed in a sealed metal drum. After each
..
: well was purged, a sample was taken using a disposable bailer..The sample water
was placed in two 40 milliliter vials filled so.that there was no air (head space)
remainingin the vials. Samples were labeled and `laced on ice in'.a cooler for
P P
transportto a state certified hazardous materials.testing laboratory, McCampbell N
Analytical of Pacheco, California. Before the next well was purged and sampled, the
1°. pump was run in one bucket with detergent and two separate buckets with tap ,
water. All purge water and equipment wash water was placed in 55 gallon steel .
drums and remains on-site. When the drums are full, disposal options will be
3 determined and documented in future reports.
Parker Environmental Services, 190 East 7th Street, Pittsburg, CA 94565.2317
Phone (510) 439-1024 Fax (510) 439-2566
i
