March Lane, Suite 127D
Stockton, California 95207
Telephone: (209) 952-3481
Facsimile: (209) 952-9892
November 1, 1996
Mr. Michael Infurna
San Joaquin County PHS/EHD
P.O. Box 0388
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
Subject: Third Quarter 1996 Monitoring and Sampling Report
Former Steve's Rentals, 275 Grant Line i'Road, Tracy, California
Dear Mr. Infurna:
This letter report presents the results of the third qu:,Ufter 1996 groundwater monitoring and
sampling at the subject site (Figure 1).
Groundwater monitoring was conducted on October 9, :11996 on wells MWI, MW2, and MW3.
The groundwater elevations across the site fell an average of 0.13 feet since the last monitoring
event on June 28, 1996 (Table 1). Figure 2 depicts the groundwater flow direction and
hydraulic gradient on October 9, 1996. Flow direction Ilat the site was generally to the northeast
at a gradient of approximately 0.003 ft/ft. Monitoring'!data are included in Attachment A.
On October 9, 1996 after purging at least three casing volumes of groundwater and the
stabilization of temperature, pH, and electrical conductivity, samples were collected from each
well in accordance with the site Well Sampling Protocol. Samples were analyzed by Argon
Laboratories (ELAP #1873) of Ceres, California for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes.
(BTEX), and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) using EPA method 8020, and total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) using modified EPAmethod 8015.
J
TPHg, BTEX, and MTBE were not present above laboratory method detection limits in samples
collected from wells MW1, MW2, and MW3, which is consistent with historical results.
Laboratory -analytical data are summarized in Table 2. Laboratory data sheets and chain of
custody documentation are included in Attachment B. :1
gr*urkdze\pegUu.03513qm1996
