' 15 March 1996 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0105 <br /> ' Page 2 of 7 <br /> ' 2 3 MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND SAMPLING <br /> In September 1988, three ground water monitoring wells were installed by Meinfelder, Inc <br /> Laboratory results of soil samples collected during the installation of monitoring well MW-3 <br /> confirmed the presence of hydrocarbon-impacted soil <br /> ' After installation, ground water sample was collected from each well Low concentrations of total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g), xylenes and ethylene dibromide(EDB) were detected <br /> in the sample from MW-3 However, no petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil or ground <br /> ' water samples collected from MW-1 or MW-2 <br /> F <br /> ' 24 ADDITIONAL SOIL AND GROUNDWATER ASSESSMENT <br /> ' On 22 February 1995, two soil borings were drilled at the site TPH-g and volatile aromatic <br /> hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylenes BTE&X) were detected in soil and <br /> ground water samples collected from the bonngs Results of the drilling and sampling were detailed <br /> in the Qunt terly Report-July 1995, dated 15 September 1995, prepared by AGE <br /> ' 2 5 EXCAVATION AND TRENCHING PROCEDURES <br /> On 17 April, 25 May and 26 June 1995, approximately 200 cubic yards of hydrocarbon-impacted soil <br /> ' were excavated from the site The soil was stockpiled on-site, characterized and transported to <br /> Forward Landfill for disposal Excavation limits are illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> ' Analysis of soil samples collected from the sidewalls of the excavation indicated that hydrocarbon- <br /> impacted soil extends off-site north and west of the property Excavation procedures and results were <br /> detailed in the Quarterly Report-July 1995 <br /> ' 2 6 GROUND WATER MONITORING AND SA:NfPLING _ <br /> Monitoring wells at the site have been sampled on four occasions 21 September 1988, 14 February <br /> ' <br /> 1995, 13 July 1995 and 19 October 1995 No petroleum hydrocarbons have been detected in wells <br /> MW-1 or MW-2 Low concentration of TPH-g, benzene, toluene and xylenes have been detected in <br /> samples collected from MW-3 <br />
