- - 15 September-1995 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0105 <br /> Page 4 of 7 <br /> ' installed next to Parker Avenue west of the building, trench T2 was installed at the northwest corner <br /> of the site, trench T3 was installed near Grant Line Road at the northeast corner of the former tank <br /> excavation B, trench T4 was installed at the northwest corner of the building One soil sample each <br /> ' was collected from trenches T1, T2 and T4 Two samples were collected from trench T3 Three <br /> samples were also collected from the April 1995 soil stockpile Trenching and sampling locations are <br /> ' shown on Figure 3 <br /> Excavation was resumed on 26 June 1995 The April excavation was extended to the north toward <br /> Grant Line Road, to the west toward Parker Avenue and to the south along Parker Avenue <br /> Approximately 125 cubic yards of soil were removed during the June 1995 excavation Seven soil <br /> samples were collected from the side walls of the excavation at depths between 5 5 to 6 feet <br /> Excavated soil was transported and disposed with soil excavated in April 1995, all soil was disposed <br /> at Forward Landfill in Manteca, California The limits of excavation and sample locations are shown <br /> on Figure 4 Disposal certificates are included in Appendix C <br /> 1 All soil samples were collected using 2 by 3-inch brass sleeves Both ends of each sleeve were <br /> covered with Teflon sheets or aluminum foil, capped and sealed with tape Samples were placed in <br /> M a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody to a state-certified laboratory The May <br /> samples were transported to MAI and the June samples were transported to WEST laboratories <br /> Samples were analyzed for TPH-g and BTE&X in accordance with EPA methods 8015m and 8020, <br /> ' respectively The three stockpile samples were composited at the laboratory and analyzed for total <br /> lead in accordance with EPA method 6010 in addition to the discrete analysis for TPH-g and <br /> BTE&X <br /> 3 6 EXCAVATION BACKFILLING <br /> ' On 26 and 27 June 1995 the excavation was backfilled using imported fill sand, supplied by Conti <br /> P <br /> Materials Service, Inc Compaction was performed using a rolling/vibrating compactor The <br /> ' compactor and operator were supplied by Stokley Construction Compaction tests were performed <br /> to the west and north of the building A minuinum of 90% compaction was obtained for both tests <br /> ' The compaction tests were performed by Arrowhead Consultants A new asphalt surface was then <br /> applied over the entire site Results of compaction testing are included in Appendix D Backfill <br /> material certificates are included in Appendix E <br /> 1 <br />
