[ll. GEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> The site Is situated within the northwestern part of the San Joaquin Valley between <br /> the San Joaquin River and the Coast Range. The San Joaquin Valley is a topographic <br /> i <br /> and structural basin bounded on the east by the Sierra Nevada fault block and on the <br /> west by the Coast Range. <br /> The site is located on an alluvial plain. Surface elevations range from about <br /> Elevation 24 to 28 feet, mean sea level datum. Predominant sails In the upper 80 to 100 <br /> feet are silty clays and clayey sands. Lenses of gravel and gravelly sand are present at <br /> depth within this zone.
