Southern_eagific Railroad Land <br /> The SPRR land Is occupied by railroad tracks, a petroleum products pipeline <br /> owned by Southern Pacific Pipe Lines, Inc. (SPPLI) and two abandoned petroleum <br /> products pipelines. <br /> According to Mr. Joe lvanovich, Southern Pacific Railroad, there have been no <br /> accidents or spills Involving S.P. trains In the immediate vicinity of the study area, <br /> The SPPLI pipeline Is located between the raliroad tracks and Byron Road. <br /> According to Mr. John Mason, SPPLI, the facility Is a high-pressure gasoline'and aviation <br /> fuel line that is approximately 5 years old. He reported that this is SPPLI's only pipeline <br /> in the vicinity of the study area and that they have had no problems with it In the area, <br /> Mr, lvanovich also reported that the two abandoned pipelines, owned by <br /> Associated Pipeline, Inc., were in service from 1934 to 1955. They were subsequently <br /> owned by Tidewater Oil Comp: ay and later, Getty Oil Company. <br /> Mr. Purtado reported that a,n oil pipeline located within the study area along the <br /> south side"of Southern pacific Railroad tracks adjacent to Byron Road "burst" sometime <br /> in the late..1950's or early 1960's.
