Southern_eagific Railroad Land The SPRR land Is occupied by railroad tracks, a petroleum products pipeline owned by Southern Pacific Pipe Lines, Inc. (SPPLI) and two abandoned petroleum products pipelines. According to Mr. Joe lvanovich, Southern Pacific Railroad, there have been no accidents or spills Involving S.P. trains In the immediate vicinity of the study area, The SPPLI pipeline Is located between the raliroad tracks and Byron Road. According to Mr. John Mason, SPPLI, the facility Is a high-pressure gasoline'and aviation fuel line that is approximately 5 years old. He reported that this is SPPLI's only pipeline in the vicinity of the study area and that they have had no problems with it In the area, Mr, lvanovich also reported that the two abandoned pipelines, owned by Associated Pipeline, Inc., were in service from 1934 to 1955. They were subsequently owned by Tidewater Oil Comp: ay and later, Getty Oil Company. Mr. Purtado reported that a,n oil pipeline located within the study area along the south side"of Southern pacific Railroad tracks adjacent to Byron Road "burst" sometime in the late..1950's or early 1960's.
