Monitoring wells utilized two
inch (211) diameter, threaded, flush joint PVC casing (Schedule 40) .
All well casing was cleaned prior to installation.
Monitoring wells were constructed by inserting two -inch (211) PVC
casing (both solid and screened) into the hollow portion ' of the
external drilling augers. The hollow augers were then slowly
withdrawn. A 2/12 sand filter pact: was placed around the screened
( . 001) and blank PVC casing to a depth of twenty feet (201 ) below
grade. The fine size was adjusted to account for the fine (clayey)
size of the sediment. Bentonite cement grout was then emplaced to
the near surface (2.5 ' to 11 ) . The upper foot of the well annulus
was filled with neat cement grout to grade (reference Boring Logs,
Appendix B, for sketch of construction) . Traffic rated,
watertight, well head cover boxes were installed in each well in
accordance with California Water Resources Control Board
guidelines..
1
a
i
i
Toxic Technology, Inc.
