Mary Meays.of the SJCPHS was present to witness the destruction of <br /> the monitoring wells on-June 10, 1993. <br /> Destruction of Existing Monitoring Wells <br /> BAI destroyed the three existing monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2 and P-2 by pressure <br /> grouting the well casings with a neat cement-grout on.June 10, 1993. The-grout was <br /> emplaced under a pressure of approximately 100 PSI using a drill rig mounted grout <br /> pump. After the completion of the grouting, the well monuments and the upper <br /> one and a half feet of well casing were removed and the hole was backfilled with <br /> grout to within three to six inches of existing surface grade. After observation of the j <br /> final grout placement by Mary Meays, the locations of the wells "were covered with <br /> approximately three to six inches.of soil. Destruction was completed by Spectrum W f <br /> Exploration -of .Stockton, a licensed C-57 drilling contractor. A copy of the signed <br /> well destruction permit is attached to this report. <br /> Disposal of Stored Water f <br /> A total of 142 gallons of water were disposed of by DPC at Gibson Environmental in <br /> Redwood City, California, an .EPA licensed TSD facility. The water was transported <br /> by Integrated Wastestream Management (IWM) of Newark California Ao the t <br /> disposal facility. A copy of the signed water transport form is attached to this report. <br /> After the water was disposed, the four 55-gallon drums were transported to a drum <br /> recycling facility by IWM. <br /> Based on the completion of these activities, it is BAI's understanding that no further. <br /> work will be required. of DPC by SJCPHS. DPC is waiting for further notice from l <br /> SJCPHS regarding--the review of this site and its formal recommendation for site <br /> . :.closure to the RWQCB. <br />
