CHRONOLOGY 724 GRANTLINE RD TRACY j j 01/05/87 3 soil borings were drilled and I monitoring well (MW-1) down gradient i of the two 10,000 gallon underground tanks (UST) was installed at the site, and soil and water samples were collected. MW-1 is within 10 feet of E the tanks. Neither USTs had been removed at this point. 02/05/87 PHS/EHD received results of the soil and water samplings. Results indicated toluene contamination in the soil ranging from 13 to 43 ppb, and no detectable levels of benzene,toluene, xylenes in groundwater. i 08/19/87 The two 10,000 gallon USTs were removed: Grab water samples and soil samples beneath tank base were collected. 09/25/87 PHS/EHD received results of sampling analyses. Results of grab water k sample indicate the presence of total volatile hydrocarbons (TVH) at 1,740 ppb,total extractable hydrocarbons (TEH) at 1,740 ppb, benzene at 2.6 ppb, toluene at 1.6 ppb, ethylbenzene at 13.8 ppb, and xylenes at 8.8 ppb. 10/13/87 Water sampling from MW-1 down gradient of former tank location was collected by a different consultant. 11/16/87 PHS/EHD received results of analyses from the monitoring well water sampling. The results were below the detection limit for TPH-g (detection limit at ppb) and BTEX (at 0.5 ppb, 0.5 ppb, 0.5 ppb, and 2.0 ppb respectively). The responsible party (RP) disputed the analytical results of the samples taken when the tanks were removed, stating that the samples were not } taken according to RWQCB or Department of Health Services protocol for collection of groundwater, and requested site closure based on the new ` data obtained and reported by their new consultant. 04/04/94 PHS/EHD reviewed file. 08/07/95 PHS/EHD decided the RP has done enough investigation, and concurred with consultant's request for closure. 08/14/95 The site is assigned to PHS/EHD Local UST Oversight Program. Notification of Responsibility letter was mailed to RP. y f h
