Grant Line Road
Tracy, California
.i
'Dear Mr. Lewis:
Clayton has reviewed the letter prepared by San Joaquin County Public Health
`Services (SJC/PHS) concerning the subject parcel dated October 25, 1990 (letter). As
:you know, we delivered our report titled "Soil Excavation and Aeration" to Ms.!Diane
Hinson, SJC/PHS case officer, on October 23, 1990. We were assured by Ms. Hinson
'that she would review this report and provide a letter of closure, with exclusions
regarding post closure well monitoring, within 2 days. When I discussed your concerns
:with Ms. Hinson on October 16, 1990, she indicated that she would provide a letter
stating that "no further soil remediation would be required" providing that soil samples
collected from the bottom and perimeter of the excavation did not show any
significant contamination.
6 _ .. .... :'.G`-- -' o . .r w•. ., -r-. r.-^oeF.'. .. 'x r. y ' „ .a-_ _. .`...... -4E., _ _ .. -... s..b,W. Specifically, there are some
inaccuracies and oversights in the letter that we would like to clarify. If the SJC/PHS
is prepared to discuss and resolve these issues, Clayton would be willing to meet with
the SJC/PHS at their earliest convenience.
The following issues need to be discussed with the SJC/PHS:
• Soil in the vicinity of sample ME-1 was found to be contaminated therefore,
Clayton removed soil to a depth of 13 feet from beneath the location where
sample ME-1 was collected. Subsequently an abandoned septic tank was
discovered (and removed) immediately east of the location where this sample was
29531-261tc ,
4
Clayton Environmentai Consultants,Inc.
