' Harding Lawson Associates <br /> II RESULTS OF PREVIOUS STUDIES <br /> A. Previous Investigation <br /> HLA has been investigating soil and groundwater conditions <br /> at this site since November 1986. 'To date, the results of the <br /> investigation has been presented in the following reports: <br /> 1. Soil-Gas Survey Interim Report June 28, 1988 <br /> 2 . Monitoring Well Installation Report August 25, 1988 <br /> 3 . Problem Assessment Report January 10, 1989 <br /> Regular quarterly monitoring has been performed as of June <br /> 1991, at the request of Southland and SJCPHS/EHD. <br /> B. Site Description <br /> 1. Surface Conditions <br /> The site is on the western edge of the San Joaquin <br /> Valley Dust east of the Altamont Pass. Theeneral topography <br /> 5 of <br /> the area is flat with the overall slope of the land tending <br /> towards the east. <br /> As shown on Plate 1, the site is on the northwest <br /> corner of West Grant Line Road and Buthmann Avenue which ends at <br /> Grant Line Road. Across Grant Line Road is a motorcycle <br /> dealership "Wheel Country" , and on the northeast corner is a <br /> division of the California Highway Patrol . The parcel alongside <br /> the western boundary of the site and the parcel behind the <br /> store's northern boundary are undeveloped. <br /> The former service station consisted of oneum island <br /> P P <br /> and three underground storage tanks (USTs) located in the parking <br /> ' 3 <br />
