Using the entire email chain, my interpretation of his final comment is
that he conditionally approved the method that was used.
Cheers
Tamera Rogers, GIT I AFS Project Manager I Tamera.Rogers@arcadis.com
Arcadis I Arcadis U.S., Inc.
6296 San Ignacio Ave, Ste C & D San Jose CA 1 95119 1 USA
T. +1 408 797 2013 1 M. +1 408 239 9616
Connect with us! www.arcadis.com I Linkedln I Twitter I Facebook
P ARCADIS P
EXPL.OREArcadis caECT
DOWNLOAD OUR M081LE APP
Be green, leave it on the screen.
From: Michael Kith [EH] [mailto:mkith@sicehd.com]
Sent: Monday, April 17, 2017 4:55 PM
To: Rogers,Tamera <Tamera.Rogers@arcadis.com>; Granborg,Jennifer<Jennifer.Granborg@arcadis.com>
Subject: RE: Well Destruction Permits (Site and Right of Way) -351515 4707 Pacific Avenue, Stockton -Additional items
requested by County
My point is that the pressure grout had not been approved by Nuel or my director. Nuel only approved the grout ratio.
Michael
From: Rogers, Tamera [mailto:Tamera.RoaersCabarcadis.com]
Sent: Monday, April 17, 2017 4:21 PM
To: Michael Kith [EH]; Granborg, Jennifer
Subject: RE: Well Destruction Permits (Site and Right of Way) - 351515 4707 Pacific Avenue, Stockton - Additional items
requested by County
Section 13.12.5 of the SJC Well Standards states: "Neat cement grout shall be mixed at a ratio of one 94-pound sack of
Portland Cement to 5- 10 gallons of potable water."
The purpose of using the smaller sacks of Portland cement is related to H&S. As I am sure you are aware, proper lifting
procedures require a second person for lifting anything over 50-pounds in weight. A 94-pound sack mixed with 5- 10
gallons of water allows for a lot of variation in the thickness of the neat cement as it enters the well for destruction (no
matter what method is utilized). I just personally looked up the Quikrete sack weight and it appears we can get 47-
2
