pound bags of Portland cement. If we take the two 47-pound bags we get to the 94-pound sack equivalent (even at 46
we are at 92-pound sacks). If we double the 4-gallons for 1 sack to 8-gallons for 2 sacks we are at 94-pounds for 8 gallons
of water which puts us perfectly in-line with the SJC Well Standards. So the grout ratio shouldn't be a concern. Nuel
understood what I was stating by using the lighter weight sack which is why it was conditionally approved.
Also, please take into consideration the other comments discussed in my original email now that the grout ratio has
concern has been resovled.
Cheers
Tamera Rogers, GIT I AFS Project Manager I Tamera.Rogers@arcadis.com
Arcadis I Arcadis U.S., Inc.
6296 San Ignacio Ave, Ste C & D San Jose CA 1 95119 1 USA
T. +1 408 797 20131 M. +1 408 239 9616
Connect with us! www.arcadis.com I Linkedln I Twitter I Facebook
00 ARCA DIS = '
EXPLOREArcadis cgcT
DOWNLOAD OUR MOBILE APP
Be green, leave it on the screen.
From: Michael Kith [EH] [mailto:mkith@sicehd.com]
Sent: Monday, April 17, 2017 4:05 PM
To: Rogers,Tamera <Tamera.Rogers@arcadis.com>; Granborg,Jennifer<Jennifer.Granborg@arcadis.com>
Subject: RE: Well Destruction Permits (Site and Right of Way) - 351515 4707 Pacific Avenue, Stockton -Additional items
requested by County
No, the grout ratio is required for all grouts. It is listed in-San Joaquin County Well Standard, 13.12.5. It is not just for
pressure grout. It seems there are many questions that have come up and I feel that we have provided you with everything
necessary to provide the permits. Half of the wells at this site are already destroyed. Over drilling of the sparge wells was
proven to be an insufficient manner of destruction as the wells are too small diameter to use a stinger as a guide rod to
reach total depth of the well and ensure the entire well is destroyed to installed depth.
The vapor well that remains onsite has a H&S concern due to a subsurface utility in close proximity to the well. Arcadis
and Chevron would like to avoid the potential outfall of a utility strike. The monitoring well at the bus stop is proposed
for pressure grouting to save unduly inconveniencing bus drivers and community members by dragging out the well
destruction process. If pressure grouting is not a preferred option at this location, blast perforation plans were provided
3
