Evans
Dear Ms. Vorster:
Underground Tank Investigation, PG&E's Tracy Service Center
502 East Grant Line Road, Tracy, California
I have attached for your review and comment the groundwater monitoring
results of the latest round of sampling at the Tracy Service Center.
The samples were collected on April 25, 1989 by PG&E from six
groundwater monitoring wells (OW-1 through OW-6) located at the service
center.
Well OW-2, installed next to the location of the former underground
gasoline storage tank, was the only monitoring well which-had
detectable amounts of petroleum hydrocarbons or aromatic volatile
organics. This is consistent with previous sampling results from
January and December 1988. The results for well OW-2 indicated the
presence of gasoline hydrocarbons at 1..2 milligrams per liter (mg/1) ,
benzene at 1.54 mg/l, ethylbenzene at 95 micrograms per liter (ug/1) ,
toluene at 22 ug/1 and xylenes at 11 ug/l.
We are available to meet with you and your staff following your review
to discuss any future activities which may be warranted at this site.
Please feel free to contact Mr. Robert C. Karfiol at 415/972-7095 or
Mr. Mike Bennett at 209/263-5215 if you have any questions regarding
this matter.
Sincerely,
RCG:pb
Attachment
Mr. Val Siebal
California Department of Health Services Region I
Ms. Laurie Cottula
San Joaquin County Local Health Department
