Boring and well
specifications are presented in Table 1 and their locations are
shown on Figure 2.
Boring Depths: Boring depths were approximately 25 fbg for wells MW-5 and
MW-6,20 fbg for well MW-7,and 86 fbg for boring SB-1.
i` Sampling Methods: Soil types in the HSA borings were logged using the Unified
Soil Classification System and Munsell Soil Color Charts.
Encountered soil is described on the exploratory boring log
presented in Appendix B. Soil samples from this boring were
collected at 5-foot intervals for description' and potential
chemical analysis.
Soil types in boring SB-1 were electronically logged using
CPT logging equipment. Encountered soils are described on the
CPT logs presented in Appendix C. Three groundwater samples
were collected from boring SB-1 at depths of approximately 52,
72,and 82 fbg for chemical analyses. These sample depths were
selected based on the CPT boring log. These depths correspond
with coarse-grained sediment and sediments that could yield a
f water sample.
I Groundwater Depths: First encountered groundwater was observed in.borings MW-5
through MW-7 at approximately 13.5, 14, and 10 fbg,
respectively,during drilling activities.
k
Soil Types: Soil encountered during - drilling activities consisted
predominantly of fine-grained layers of silty clay, clay, clayey
silt,sandy silt,and silt(ML)interspersed with occasional coarse-
grained layers of silty sand, (SM), gravelly sand(SW), and sand
(SP)to the total explored depth of 86 fbg(Appendix B).
4
Soil Disposal. Soil-generated during field activities was stockpiled onsite,
covered with plastic sheeting, sampled, and profiled for disposal.
i On March 3 and March 31, 2005, Manley and Sons Trucking,
Inc.
