08/05/09 Closure Summary Report submitted this date.
08/19/09 The EHD discussed the site and the request for Closure with the Regional Water
Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region. They did not agree that the site
was ready for closure because of the undefined offsite MtBE detected in MW-10:
09/01/09 EHD correspondence sent this date to Shelf requesting either additional work or
preparation of a model to show-the contamination reported in MW-10 is from an
offsite source.
02/17/10 "Case Closure Denial-Response Letter" submitted to Geotracker by Cambria on
behalf of Shell. The Letter-presents a discussion of MtBE plume attenuation rates
at other sites in San Joaquin County, and again requests case closure.
08/06/10 "Fate and Transport Modei" submitted to Geotracker and the EHD by Cambria on
behalf of Shell. The most conservative model predicts the. MtBE in the
groundwater reported in well:.MW-10 (approximately 400 feet from the site) will
- degrade to below- the MCL, within 240 feet downgradient of MW-10 in
approximately 14 years. Using theactual current data, the model predicts the
concentration of MtBE would degrade.- to below the MCL within 160 feet
downgradient in approximately 12 years.
. a
r-
