r) ' <br /> Investigation Work Plan <br /> BP Oil Site No 11191 <br /> C A M B R I A Stockton, California <br /> September 13, 2001 <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTIVITIES <br /> Water Supply Well Survey <br /> A water supply well survey will be conducted to evaluate the location and construction of water <br /> supply wells near the site The California Department of Water Resources will be requested to <br /> provide information on water supply wells within a i/s-mile radius of the site <br /> Site Investigation <br /> Four groundwater monitoring wells will be installed at the site (see Figure 2) Actual locations <br /> will depend on subsurface obstructions The following specific tasks will be conducted during the <br /> investigation <br /> Permits Well installation permits will be obtained from the SJCPHS <br /> . Site Health and Safety Plan A comprehensive site safety plan will be prepared for well <br /> installation activities The plan will be kept on site during field activities and signed by each site <br /> worker <br /> Soil Sampling The soil borings will be drilled 10 feet into water using a drill rig equipped with <br /> hollow-stem augers Based on data from a nearby site, we anticipate that the wells will be installed <br /> to 35 feet bgs Three of the borings will be drilled using 8-inch diameter hollow stem augers and <br /> one boring will be drilled with 10-inch diameter hollow stem augers Soil samples will be <br /> collected at 5-foot intervals using a modified California split spoon sampler (see Appendix C) <br /> Field screening of hydrocarbons will include visual or olfactory observations, and/or portable <br /> volatile vapor analyzer readings <br /> 3 <br />
