Investigation Work Plan <br /> BP Oil Site No 11191 <br /> C A M B R I A Stockton, California <br /> September 13, 2001 <br /> Well Installation The three 8-inch diameter borings will be converted into 2-mch diameter <br /> monitoring wells and the 10-inch diameter boring will be converted into a 4-mch diameter <br /> monitoring well The wells will be constructed of schedule 40 polyvinyl chloride and screened <br /> with 15 feet of 0 010-mch machined slot A filter pack consisting of No 2/12 sand will be <br /> installed to 1 to 2 feet above the top of the well screen, which will be overlain by 1 to 2 feet of <br /> bentonite, and bentonite-cement grout to the surface (see Appendix C) Traffic-rated vault boxes <br /> will be installed to protect the wells The elevations of the well-heads will be surveyed relative to <br /> existing site datum <br /> CAWater Sampling Following installation, the wells will be developed by surging, swabbing and <br /> purging at least 10 casing volumes Upon completion of development activities, water samples <br /> will be collected from each well <br /> Chemical Analysts Selected soil samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as <br /> gasoline (TPHg) by modified EPA Method 8015, and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes <br /> (BTEX), and MTBE by EPA Method 8021 Selected water samples will be analyzed for TPHg by <br /> modified EPA Method 8015, BTEX,MTBE and TBA using EPA Method 8260 The samples will <br /> be submitted to a California-certified laboratory for analysis <br /> Soil and Water Handling Soil cuttings produced during drilling activities will be stockpiled on <br /> plastic pending transportation for offsite disposal Water produced during equipment <br /> decontamination will be drummed pending transportation for offsite recycling <br /> Reporting After the field activities have been completed and analytical results are reviewed, a <br /> report will be prepared that, at a minimum, will contain <br /> • Tabulated water supply well information, <br /> • Descriptions of the soil sampling methods, <br /> • Boring logs and well construction details, <br /> • Tabulated soil and water analytical results, <br /> • Laboratory reports and chain-of-custody forms, and <br /> • Our findings and conclusions <br /> 4 <br />
