Supplemental Investigation Work Plan <br /> BP Site No 11191 <br /> C A M B R I A Stockton, California <br /> June 21, 2002 <br /> Soil analytical results for samples collected beneath the underground storage tanks during 1998 <br /> replacement activities reported up to 0 0083 mg/kg benzene, 24 mg/kg MTBE, and <br /> 120 mg/kg tert-butyl alcohol (TBA) Analyzed soil samples collected beneath the dispensers and <br /> i <br /> piping reported no benzene or TBA, and up to 0 52 mg/kg MTBE Additional oxygenates <br /> (i e , ethanol, di-isopropyl ether, ethyl tcrt-butyl ether and ter -amyl methyl ether) were not <br /> reported in the analyzed soil samples <br /> Soil samples analyzed during the December 2001 investigation did not report BTEX or MTBE at <br /> the depths where these constituents were previously reported or suspected in adjacent borings <br /> MTBE and TBA were reported in the analyzed soil samples at maximum concentrations of <br /> 0 97 and 2 66 mg/kg, respectively, in well MW-3 No BTEX, ethylene dibromide or <br /> 1,2-dicholoroethane were reported in the analyzed soil samples from the four wells <br /> More than 10,000 micrograms per liter (gg/L) MTBE and more than 1,000 µg/L TBA were <br /> reported in wells MW-3 and MW-4 during the second quarter 2002 No BTEX was reported in <br /> site wells during the second quarter 2002 sampling event Based on first and second quarter <br /> groundwater monitoring results, most of the hydrocarbon and MTBE mass is located near the <br /> underground storage tanks <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTIVITIES <br /> Supplemental Investigation <br /> Site Reconnaissance- On May 14, 2002, a site visit was conducted to determine land use and <br /> evaluate potential drilling locations A strip mall and parking lot are located north and northwest <br /> of the site with a vacant commercial building and Mexi-Bumto restaurant located immediately to <br /> the west (see Figure 2) A strip mall is also located across West Lane, east of the empty lot The <br /> Union Safe Deposit Bank, Eddie's Pizza Restaurant and a Beacon-branded gasoline retail outlet <br /> are located across Hammer Lane to the south and southwest <br /> Overhead lines run along the south side of Hammer Lane and the east side of West Lane (see <br /> Figure 2) Sidewalks are present along the northeast, northwest, and southwest corners of this <br /> intersection No sidewalk or paved shoulder is located on the southeast corner of this intersection, <br /> is adjacent to the Golf Land Arcade Park <br /> 3 <br />
