Supplemental Investigation Work Plan
BP Site No 11191
C A M B R ! A Stockton, California
June 21, 2002
Well Locations- Three additional groundwater monitoring wells will be installed to define the
extent of hydrocarbons and MTBE in the groundwater (see Figure 2) The wells are proposed to
be installed on private property rather than city streets due to traffic safety concerns during
installation, periodic sampling and subsequent abandonment Additionally, overhead lines, trees,
and subsurface utilities along the sidewalks reduce access along the south side of Hammer Lane
and west side of West Lane The wells are proposed for the following locations
• The Union Safe Deposit Bank planter— to provide monitoring data between the
site and the nearest identified water supply well, located 2,000 feet southeast of
the site,
• The Mexi-Bumto parking lot - to provide monitoring data west of the site, which
is the direction of groundwater movement based on the recent monitoring events,
and
• The Eddie's Pizza parking lot—to provide monitoring data southwest of the site
• Actual locations will depend on subsurface obstructions, and access agreement restrictions
Access Agreement Access agreements will be obtained from the offsite property owners of the
Union Safe Deposit Bank, Eddie's Pizza, and Mexi-Burrito properties
I
i
Permits. Well installation permits will be obtained from the San Joaquin County Public Health
Services (SJCPHS)
Site Health and Safety Plan A comprehensive site health and safety plan will be prepared for
well installation activities The plan will be kept onsite during field activities and signed by each
site worker
Soil Sampling The soil bonngs will be drilled to approximately 60 feet bgs using a drill ng
equipped with 8-inch diameter hollow-stem augers Soil samples will be collected at 5-foot
intervals using a modified California split-spoon sampler (see Appendix A) Field screening of
hydrocarbons will include visual or olfactory observations, and/or portable volatile vapor analyzer
readings
4
