2.7 MonitoringWells Survey <br /> y <br /> Newly installed groundwater monitoring well MW-7 and all previously existing groundwater <br /> monitoring wells were surveyed on 21 April 2004 by Virgil Chavez Land Surveying, Inc <br /> Survey coordinates and elevations are included in Table 3 <br /> 2.8 Laboratory Analyses of Soil and Groundwater Samples <br /> ' Based on field observations, between one and four soil samples from boreholes HA-1, HA-2, <br /> HA-4, HA-6, HA-7, and MW-7, for a total of twelve, were analyzed on site by the TEG <br /> Mobile Laboratory for TPHg and TPHd by EPA method 8015M The original work plan <br /> ' called for BTEX analyses, but this requirement was waived in the field by Mr Jeff Wong at <br /> SJCEHD Eight additional soil samples from boreholes HA-8, HA-9, and TANK-EX were <br /> analyzed by Kiff Analytical at their fixed laboratory for TPHg and TPHd by EPA Method <br /> 8015M Copies of the COCs and laboratory results are included in Appendix C <br /> A total of seven groundwater Hydropunch samples from boreholes HA-1 through HA-7 were <br /> ' analyzed on site by the TEG Mobile Laboratory for TPHg and TPHd by EPA method 8015M <br /> The original work plan called for BTEX analyses, but this requirement was waived in the <br /> field by Mr Jeff Wong at SJCEHD MW-7 will be sampled during the Second Quarter 2004 <br /> monitoring event <br /> 2.9 Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) <br /> For on-site analyses, QA/QC was assessed during soil and groundwater sampling by utilizing <br /> a new calibration standard each day, and running blanks to ensure there was no carry-over <br /> l <br /> from previous samples QA/QC procedures for the fixed laboratory included blanks, <br /> ie laboratory control samples, and matrix spike samples The QA/QC results were within the <br /> acceptable limits The fixed and on-site laboratory adhered to their QA/QC procedures for <br /> sample handling, analyses, equipment operations, and data reporting <br /> 2.10 Decontamination of Field Equipment <br /> I ' All equipment used for drilling, sampling, monitoring well installation, and monitoring well <br /> development were properly decontaminated prior to and between each use Drill equipment, <br /> such as the lead bit and hollow stem augers, were steam cleaned and air dried Soil sampling <br /> ' equipment, such as the split spoon sampler and brass tubes, was subject to a three-bucket <br /> wash The three-bucket wash consisted of scrubbing in a tap was and phosphate-free <br /> detergent mix, tap water rinse, and a final deionized water rinse followed by air drying <br /> ' 2.11 Soil and Water Residuals Management <br /> The soil, purge water, decontamination water, and development water generated during field <br /> activities were stored on-site in labeled 55-gallon drums The soil and water waste were <br /> profiled as non-hazardous and are scheduled to be disposed of by MP Environmental in May <br /> 2004 at an appropriate disposal/recycling facility <br /> 1 <br /> 6 <br />
