1 <br /> 20 June 2005 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 05-1306 <br /> Page 4of8 <br /> 3 6 SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS <br /> Following State of California Regional Water Quality Board,Tri-Regional Board recommendations, <br /> soil samples will be collected from the base and each side wall of the excavation at a minimurn <br /> interval of every 20 linear feet Soil samples will be collected from the base of the excavation at a <br /> minimum of one sample for every 400 square feet of excavation area Field procedures for collection <br /> of soil samples are presented in Section 4 2 2 <br /> Soil samples will also be collected from the stockpiled soil from the excavation for soil disposal <br /> characterization, a 4 1 composite soil sample will be collected from every 250 cubic yards of soil <br /> excavated <br /> ' Each soil sample will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services (DHS)- <br /> certified laboratory for the following constituents <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d) in <br /> accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified, <br /> • Benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and total xylene (BTEX) in accordance with EPA Method <br /> 8021 B, and <br /> Lead in accordance with EPA Method 6010B <br /> The laboratory report for soil analyses,testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control <br /> (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with <br /> findings and recommendations <br /> 37 SOIL DISPOSAL <br /> ' After soil disposal characterization, the hydrocarbon-impacted excavated soil will be transported to <br /> Forward Landfill, a licensed Class R landfill in Manteca, California, for disposal <br /> 3 8 REPORT PREPARATION <br /> Upon completion of field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a report will be prepared <br /> presenting the findings of the soil removal activities The report will include a description of the work <br /> ' performed and the results of the sampling and analysis Conclusions and applicable recommendations <br /> will be included in the report The report will be in a format acceptable to the EHD and CVRWQCB, <br /> ,. and will be reviewed and signed by a California Registered Geologist <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> 1 <br />
