City of Tracv
Building Safety and Fire Prevention Public Works Department
Development&Engineering Services 520 Tracy Blvd,Gate#3
333 Civic Center Plaza Tracy,CA 95376
Tracy,CA 95376 (209)831-6300
(209)831-6400
2.4 PROFILING AND MANAGEMENT
After receiving notification that potentially-Affected Soil has been observed during
construction activities within the Limited Area, SHELL will arrange for a representative
to collect samples of the soil (either in situ or from a segregated stockpile) for profiling
purposes. For excavated soils, the property owner should ensure that
potentially-Affected Soil is stockpiled in a separate location from non-Affected Soil to
allow for proper profiling and management.
A construction/utility worker direct contact RBC of 12,563 mg/kg for TPHc was
established by the HHRA presented in CRA's May 13, 2013 Subsurface Investigation
Report and Updated Site Conceptual Model'. Soil samples collected by SHELL's
representative will be analyzed for TPHc by EPA Method 8015M. The soil sample
analytical result(s) will be used to assess and support mitigation of construction/utility
worker exposure.
The soil sample analytical result(s) will also be used to determine if Affected Soil is
adequate for re-use (a geotechnical evaluation would be conducted by others) or
requires off-site disposal. Soil sample analytical result(s) less than the TPHc RBC of
12,563 mg/kg will be the criteria for determining Affected Soil re-use suitability. If the
Affected Soil is not suitable for re-use, based on soil sample analytical result(s) greater
than the TPHc RBC of 12,563 mg/kg, then SHELL will arrange for the removal,
transportation, and off-site disposal of the Affected Soil by a qualified waste contractor.
1 http://geotracker.waterboards.ca.gov/profile_report.asp?global_id=SL0607708243
060223(33) 5 CONESTOGA-ROVERS&ASSOCIATES
