(BVNA)is pleased to present this proposal for a limited subsurface <br /> investigation(LSI)at the above-referenced property(the"Site"). The Site is currently vacant agriculture <br /> land comprising approximately 113 acres. The site is shown on Attachment 1 along with proposed future <br /> features including the main sort building with load wings,wash building, maintenance garage,fuel Island, <br /> and storm water basins. Site uses historically included agriculture and an underground oil pipeline on the <br /> northwestern portion. This proposal is based on information presented in our Phase 1 Environmental Site <br /> Assessment(ESA),dated March 13, 2013. <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Pre-Field Activities: Pre-field activities will include preparing a Site Health and Safety Plan(SHSP)and <br /> marking the investigation boundaries with while paint and notifying Underground Service Alert(USA)at <br /> least 48 hours prior to performing drilling activities,as required by law. BVNA will prepare and submit the <br /> required San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(SJCEHD)Work Plan for approval and <br /> obtain the necessary SJCEHD drilling permits.A subsurface utility locating service will be used to clear <br /> boring locations. <br /> Field Activities: BVNA proposes to obtain soil,grab groundwater and soil vapor samples as described <br /> below and depicted on Attachment 1: <br /> • Up to 48 shallow surface soil samples will be collected in a grid pattern across the Site;the <br /> samples will be composited into 12 four-point composite soil samples to assist in characterizing <br /> near surface soils with respect to historical agricultural uses. <br /> • Up to 16 soil and grab-groundwater borings will be advanced to a maximum depth of 40 feet <br /> below ground surface(bgs),first encountered groundwater,or drilling refusal(whichever is <br /> encountered first). Three of the borings will be for grab groundwater sampling,only.
