Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
i
RE: Phase I Site Assessment, 200 West Harding Way, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Sasson:
RESNA Industries, Inc. (RESNA), on behalf of W.T. Hull and Co., Inc., is submitting this
brief workplan to conduct drilling activities associated with a Phase I Site Assessment at 200
West.Harding Way, in Stockton; California (Plate 1).
EI The site currently is occupied by an office building and associated asphalted parking area. It
is,our understanding that the site previously was occupied by a retail fueling station and included
underground fuel storage tanks (USTs). The USTs were presumably removed in accordance
with appropriate regulations prior to construction of the existing structure.
r .
To investigate potential soil impaction by the former USTs RESNA will drill six angle.borings
in:the vicinity of the existing structure as shown on Plate-2. The borings will be advanced at
a.n approximate angle of 45 from vertical and samples collected at approximately 21 and 35 feet
along the bore length (15 and 25 feet below surface grade) in an attempt to determine soil
f conditions beneath former potential release locations.
Samples will be collected by driving two-inch diameter brass rings into undisturbed soil, then
capping each end with teflon-tape and plastic end caps. Samples will be preserved on ice and
transported under chain of custody to state-certified Sequoia Analytical. Samples will be
analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes -(BTEX) by EPA method 8020, total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) by EPA method 8015 modified, and total lead by
graphite furnace or atomic adsorption.
II .
4: WP-1093.FNL
