Box 522
Lathrop, CA 95330
( 209 ) 464-0362
Dear Frank:
As per your request, Groundwater Technology, Inc. is pleased
to submit this proposal outlining work steps and estimated costs
for the installation of 3 monitoring wells at a site located at
Hammer and Pacific Streets in Stockton, California. The site is
located in a mixed commercial-residential area and is the
site of Knowles gasoline service station. We understand that six
underground gasoline and diesel storage tanks have been excavated
and removed from the site. During tank removal , contamination
( stained soil ) was noted. Several samples were collected and
analyzed for total volatile hydrocarbons . The samples showed
contamination concentrations ranging from non-detectable to 504
ppm.
Groundwater Technology proposes to install three monitoring
wells to assess the possible impact ( if any) on the groundwater
below the site and proposes to conduct the following work steps :
Drill three soil borings up to 55 feet deep, in the
vicinity of the excavated tanks . (See site plan
Figure 1 ) .
Obtain soil samples while drilling at approximately
5 foot intervals for field analysis for volatile
organic components using a photo-ionization detector
(PID ) .
Oth. olfroc:Redondo Beach.CA:Ta:nna.
