Beacon Station No 3641 September 9,2002 <br /> Stockton,California Work Plan <br /> Monitoring Well Installation Phase <br /> The second phase shall be to install monitoring wells to confirm and monitor the extent of <br /> the hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater The locations of the monitoring wells shall be <br /> evaluated, in part, on the basis of the results of the groundwater analyses from the first phase <br /> of work The well locations shall be proposed in a work plan addendum developed after the <br /> results of the delineation phase are available <br /> Interim Soil Remediation Phase <br /> The interim soil remediation phase shall consist of the design, installation and operation of a <br /> soil vapor extraction system to facilitate groundwater source hydrocarbons from the vadose <br /> zone The goal of interim soil remediation would be to remove source hydrocarbons that <br /> continue to degrade the groundwater quality beneath the site <br /> Task 1 Design and submit permits for installation of an interim soil vapor extraction <br /> system (SVES) These permits include an authority to construct (ATC) from <br /> the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, and building and <br /> electrical permits from the City of Stockton and utility companies <br /> Task 2 Install subsurface PVC piping from selected vapor extraction wells to a <br /> remediation compound location During installation of the VES piping, <br /> additional piping for other remedial technologies would be installed to <br /> minimize the cost of upgrading the final treatment system <br /> Task 3 Install remediation equipment in the compound for extracting and abating <br /> hydrocarbons from the subsurface <br /> Task 4 Prepare a report documenting installation of the interim SVES and results of <br /> the startup <br /> 641 wp9-o2 <br /> Project No 1641 15 6 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. <br />
