19 November 2007
AGE-NC Project No. 05-1306
2.1. PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from the EHD. In addition, an update to the
health and safety plan presently on-file will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and
Health Guidance Manual.for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational
Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency,
1985). Prior to mobilization, the proposed well locations will be clearly marked and a utility
clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert.
2.2. BOREHOLE DRILLING WITH SOIL SAMPLING
AGE proposes to drill three boreholes for installation of monitoring wells at the following locations
(Figure 2):
• Boreholes MW 10 and MW 11 will be drilled approximately 75 feet southeast and 70 feet
northeast, respectively, of existing monitoring well MW-3; the boreholes will be drilled to
a depth of approximately 25 feet and 28 feet bsg, respectively.
• Borehole MW 12 will be drilled approximately 70 feet east-southeast of well MW-3; this
borehole will be drilled to a depth of approximately 35 feet bsg.
As each boring is advanced, soil samples will be collected at 5-foot intervals beginning at 5 feet bsg
and extending to the total soil boring depth. Selected soil samples will be analyzed by Kiff
Analytical, LLC (Kiff), a State of California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified
analytical laboratory in Davis, California, for the following constituents:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 8260B; and
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel(TPH-d)in accordance with EPA Method
8015M.
Field procedures for borehole drilling and collection of soil samples are presented in Section 3.1;
laboratory reports for the soil analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control
(QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody(COC) documentation will be presented in a report
with findings and recommendations.
Advanced GeoE nvi ron mental,Inc.
