Install eight shallow boxings to 20 feet bsg to collect soil samples for analyses and
definition of the lateral extent of the contamination.
C01AMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
Haley&Aldrich agreed to submit an addendum to the work plan to San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department(EHD) during a telephone conversation on January 9,2003 that'
includes the following:
A contingency provision to install additional sampling points northwest of the former
underground storage tank(UST) area and to extend target depths as necessary to collect 2
consecutive samples lacking
field indication of contamination.
The one proposed shallow soil boring toward the northwest to 20 feet may not be
adequate to define the lateral extent of the soil contamination, also, analytical results
of soil samples collected from nearby boring SB-1 at 30 feet bsg were 20 milligrams
per kilograms (mg/kg) diesel,and from MW-2 at 28.5 feet bsg were 1;500 mg/kg.
Advancing borings to the proposed 20 feet bsg may not be enough to define the
vertical extent of the residual contamination below the ground water table.
i
