This proposal is in response to
correspondences from Mr. Mike Infurna of San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Department (PHS/EHD) dated April 16, 1998 and June 15, 1998. The
proposed scope of work will be completed in two phases. The first phase will include the
excavation, transport, and disposal.of the existing backfill material in the former tank pit and
backfill and compaction of the excavation with clean fill material. The second phase includes
installing three soil borings, collecting soil samples, completing the borings as groundwater
monitoring wells, developing and sampling the groundwater monitoring wells, and preparing a
summary report. The following is a description of tasks that will be performed and the
corresponding estimated budget is included in Attachment 1.
SCOPE OF WORK
PHASE ONE
Task 1: Workplan and Executive Summary Preparation
Under this task, ATC will prepare a workplan including necessary permit applications and fees for
the subsurface investigation. The workplan will conform to the underground storage tank (UST)
Corrective Action Site Safety Guidelines set forth by the PHS/EHD. ATC will also prepare an
Executive Summary for posting during the public review process required prior to beginning site
mitigation. The workplan, Executive Summary, and a tentative work schedule will be sent to the
client in draft form. Any comments will be incorporated into the workplan and Executive
Summary and then submitted to PHS/EHD for review. '
w:\proposa1\p91000\p91015b.doc 1
