GRANITE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY <br /> WKA No 2088 06 <br /> October 12, 1994 <br /> Page 5 <br /> thick bentonite seal will be placed in the well annulus above the filter pack A grout seal <br /> consisting of Portland Cement and bentonite slurry will be tremted into the well annulus above <br /> the bentonite seal The wells will be completed with locking well caps and flush-mounted, <br /> traffic-rated well covers A diagram showing construction details of the proposed ground water <br /> monitoring wells is shown on Plate 4 <br /> The wells will be developed using a vented surge block and pumped until relatively free of <br /> sediment and/or until stabilized pH, temperature and conductivity readings are attained The <br /> water purged during development will be placed in sealed, labeled 55-gallon drums and stored on <br /> site <br /> Following installation and development, water samples will be obtained from the wells Prior to <br />. sampling, a water level measurement will be recorded, and the wells will be checked for the <br /> presence of free product using a clear bailer The wells will then be purged of at least three well <br /> volumes of water or until stabilized pH, temperature and conductivity readings are attained, <br /> purge water will be stored to sealed and labeled, 55-gallon drums as described above <br /> Subsequent to purging, the water sample will be obtained with a disposable bailer and decanted <br /> into appropriate sample containers provided by the laboratory The water samples will be stored <br /> on ice in. an ice chest and submitted under chain-of-custody to a California-certified laboratory, <br /> along with a travel blank, for analysis of one or more of the following TPH using Modified <br /> EPA test method 8015, BTEX using EPA test method 602, and Lead using EPA test method <br /> 7421 <br /> Subsequent to construction, the two new wells will be surveyed to provide basis for calculation of <br /> ground water flow direction and gradient <br /> `NK <br /> WALLACE KUHL <br /> R`ryledlupr fir ASSOCIATES INC <br />
