GRANITE CONSTRUCTION, FRENCH CAMP
✓ WKA No. 2088.04
December 2, 1993
Page 4
V
Analytical results for soil samples obtained during the construction of three monitoring wells
revealed no detectable concentrations of TPH or BTEX. Laboratory results for the soil samples
are presented in Table 1.
Analytical results for water samples obtained from the three previously constructed wells revealed
TPH gasoline concentrations ranging from 590 Mcg/I to 3200 jig/I. Analytical results for samples
obtained from the three newly constructed wells revealed no detectable concentrations of TPH or
BTEX. Detectable concentrations of TPH diesel and motor oil were not reported in any of the
water samples. Laboratory results for the water samples are presented in Table 2 and complete
laboratory reports and chain-of-custody documentation are contained in Appendix B.
The location and casing elevation of the new wells was surveyed by a licensed California
surveyor on October 29, 1993. Subsequent to the survey, the depth to ground water was
measured in each well and the ground water flow direction was calculated to be toward the
w
northwest.
SOIL EXCAVATION
i... Excavation and removal of approximately 700 cubic yards of diesel contaminated soil was
completed on September 28, 1993 in the vicinity of the former dispenser island. Thirteen soil
samples were obtained from the bottom and sidewalls of the excavation at the locations shown on
Plate 2. The samples were analyzed by a California-certified laboratory for TPH and BTEX.
Analytical results for sample EX7-14, obtained from a depth of 14 feet along the northerly
sidewall, revealed a TPH diesel concentration of 11 mg/kg and a TPH motor oil concentration of
26 mg/kg. Results for sample EX3-9, obtained from a depth of 9 feet along the westerly wall of
the excavation, revealed a TPH-diesel concentration of 13 mg/kg. Analysis of all other
excavation samples revealed no detectable concentrations of TPH and BTEX.
V WALLACE•KUHL
ErAb!kM iATES INC.
