GRANITE CONSTRUCTION—FRENCH CAMP Page 3 <br /> WKA No 2088.09 <br /> March 12, 2003 <br /> analysis on November 30, 2001 The groundwater flow direction continues to be toward the <br /> northwest with a hydraulic gradient of approximately 0 002 feet/foot <br /> From March 1993 to December 1998, groundwater samples have been obtained from the wells <br /> on a consistent basis Depth to groundwater beneath the site has fluctuated from 3130 feet in <br /> October 7, 1994 to 15 25 feet bsg in December 17, 1998 Groundwater flow direction <br /> historically has been to the northwest with hydraulic gradients ranging from 0.001 feet/foot to <br /> 0 004 feet/foot TPH as gasoline, and BTEX have not been detected in wells MW4, MW5, <br /> MW6,MW7, or MWS since May 11, 1995 <br /> Based on historical data and results of the December 30, 2001 groundwater monitoring and <br /> sampling event we believe the site should be classified as a"low risk groundwater case" as <br /> defined by the CVRWQCB and considered for closure We recommend that the CVRWQCB be <br /> notified of our findings Upon concurrence for site closure by the SJCPHS and the CVRWQCB, <br /> we recommend that the eight groundwater monitoring wells and the dust control well be <br /> • abandoned in accordance with County and State regulations <br /> Well Abandonment Workplan <br /> The purpose of our work will be to properly abandon eight 2-ranch diameter groundwater <br /> monitoring wells and the dust control well all of which are located onsite at the Granite <br /> Construction facility. <br /> Our scope of work will include the following <br /> Preparing a brief workplan and obtaining well destruction permits from San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) <br /> * Coordinating all work with the site facility manager to assure proper site access <br /> Pressure grouting the wells with a cement grout slurry to surface grade using a <br /> drill ng equipped with a tremmse system <br /> 00 <br /> WALLACE KUHL <br /> Hecy&dNNp fir ASSOCIATES INC <br />
