S <br /> Results of Initial Investigation and Work Plan December 18, 1990 <br /> ARCO Service Station No. 548, Stockton, California AGS 30004-2 <br /> soil. Each group of four samples will be composited into one sample by the laboratory. Soil <br /> samples will be collected in clean brass tubes from approximately b inches below the surface <br /> of the stockpiles. <br /> Trustallation of Conductor Casins <br /> After excavating, if results of laboratory analyses indicate soil samp_ws collected from the <br /> base of either gasoline tank excavation contain hydrocarbons in concentrations that warrant <br /> remediation, a maximum of six conductor casings, two between each tank,will be installed <br /> from the base of the tanks to the ground surface. The conductor casing will be driven <br /> approximately 2 feet into native soil and theta surrounded by clean pea gravel backfill. <br /> Twelve-inch-diameter polyvinyl chloride pipe will be used for conductor casing. The <br /> ;,..� conductor casing will allow soil borings to be drilled between the new tanks.to continue <br /> further investigation of soil conditions beneath the tanks. Vapor-recovery wells could be <br /> Y <br /> s <br /> installed in these borings if remediation of soil is warranted. <br /> y <br /> LABORATORY ANALYSES <br /> Soil samples collected from the bottom of the existing and proposed gasoline tank cavities <br /> will be submitted to a State-certified laboratory for analysis of TPHg by Environmental <br /> Y <br /> Protection Agency (EPA) preparation Method 5030 and modified EPA Method 8015 and <br /> r <br /> BTEX by EPA Method 8020. Soil samples collected from under the former leaded gasoline <br /> tank will be submitted for analysis of total and organic lead. <br /> Soil.samples.collected fromthebottom of the waste-oil tank cavi will be submitted for - -_--- <br /> - cavity- --- - <br /> TPHg and total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel using preparation Method 5030 and <br /> L,1 16 <br /> APPIlecd Ge®systams <br />
