Y <br /> gry� <br /> U <br /> iC <br /> Work Plan September 5, 1990 <br /> ARCO Station 548, Stockton, California AGS 30004-1 <br /> REGIONAL GEOLOGY AND HYDROGEOLOGY <br /> The site is underlain by the Modesto Formation, which is composed of alluvial sediments <br /> that range in size from gravel to sand and silt (Marchand and Allwardt, 1977). The <br /> Modesto Formation dips gently to the west (Wagner, 1981). <br /> The site is in the Eastern San Joaquin County Ground-Water Basin (California Department <br /> of Water Resources, 1988). According to personnel of the San Joaquin Public Health <br /> Services (SJPHS), the regional ground-water gradient is to the southwest and ground water <br /> F;® is between 40 to 50 feet below surface grade. The ground-water basin has been developed <br /> for intensive irrigation, domestic, industrial, municipal, and stock use. <br /> PROPOSED WORK <br /> To evaluate the soil for gasoline hydrocarbons beneath the site, Applied GeoSystems will: <br /> o' Obtain a drilling permit from the SJPHS. <br /> o Contact Underground Service Alert at least 48 hours before drilling to identify <br /> public utility lines at the site. <br /> o Drill a maximum of four soil borings in the area of the gasoline-storage tanks <br /> cavity as specified under drilling and sampling. <br /> �:J 5 <br /> t� <br />
