.S <br /> Mr Paul Supple Project 20805-140 003 <br /> April 30, 1998 <br /> Page 6 <br /> ANALYTICAL RESULTS <br /> Soil samples collected from beneath the gasoline USTs, product delivery piping, and <br /> dispensers were submitted as discrete samples, and soil samples collected from the <br /> gasoline UST soil stockpile were submitted for compositing two to one at the laboratory <br /> Samples were analyzed for the following parameters consistent with SJCPHS <br /> requirements <br /> • TPHG using U S Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Method 8015M <br /> • BTEX using USEPA Method 8020 <br /> • Methyl-tert-butyl ether (MTBE) using USEPA Method 8020 <br /> • Oxygenates [ternary butanol, MTBE, di-isopropyl ether, ethyl tertiary butyl <br /> ether, and tertiary amyl methyl ether] using USEPA Method 8260 <br /> • Total lead using USEPA Method 7410 <br /> Soil sample T-5 collected from beneath the waste oil UST and soil stockpile sample <br /> P <br /> SP-2A/2B were analyzed for TPHG and total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHD) <br /> using USEPA Method 8015M, BTEX using USEPA Method 8020, halogenated volatile <br /> organics (HVOCs) using USEPA Method 8010, ICAP metals (cadmium, chromium, lead, <br /> nickel, zinc, and chronuum VI), and PCBs using USEPA 8080 In addition, sample <br /> SP-2A/2B was also analyzed for TOG using SM 5520 E&F and polynuclear aromatic <br /> hydrocarbons using USEPA Method 8100 These analyses were used to evaluate <br /> appropriate disposal methods of stockpiled soil <br /> Tank Excavation Soil Samples <br /> Analytical results indicate the vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon impacts in the <br /> northeastern and central southern part of the former gasoline UST complex extended to <br /> depths greater than 16 feet bgs Detected TPHG concentrations at depths of 15 to <br /> 16 feet bgs ranged from 750 to 8,200 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) Benzene was <br /> detected in sample T-3-N at a concentration of 4 6 mg/kg MTBE was detected in <br /> samples T-2-S and T-4-S at concentrations of 0 11 and 0 057 mg/kg, respectively <br /> Additional oxygenates did not exceed laboratory method reporting limits Total lead <br /> ranged from below method reporting hunts to 27 mg/kg See Table 1 for analytical <br /> results and the appendix for copies of certified analytical reports <br /> SACW\PIO 80"8051400 3FS-94wsmer 1 ;DMN44& <br />
